Wellington: Hard rock band AC/DC's drummer, Phil Rudd, has been charged with attempting to procure the services of hitmen to murder two people.
Phil Rudd, 60, appeared in court Thursday after his home in New Zealand's North Island was raided by police today, a New Zealand-based newspaper reported.
Rudd was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and cannabis.
He has secured bail until his next appearance November 27.
Rudd, who had been in custody since the police raid on his house, was ordered to have no contact with the man he allegedly tried to hire to carry out the two hits.
Rudd moved to New Zealand in 1983 after being sacked from the band. He was reinstated in 1994.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 along with the other members of AC/DC.
