Media speculation over the naming of the Benedict Cumberbatch's child has been put to rest. The newborn is called Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch.

The actor and his wife, Sophie Hunter, welcomed their first child on June 1. The baby boy was born where all the stars choose to have their babies - in the plush Portland Hospital in Westminster.
While Benedict played Christopher Tietjens in the Sir Tom Stoppard television adaptation of Parade's End, it appear he kept to family tradition with Carlton as it is both Benedict and his father Tim's middle name. Cumberbatch is, well, the surname.
Elegant as it may sound when fully extended, but the little one runs the risk of being bullied as Triple C, a moniker he would share with US Rapper Rick Ross' wrestling rap trio, streetwise antagonists of the Urban Wrestling Federation.
