Charmayne Maxwell, a member of 1990s R&B group 'Brownstone', has died at the age of 46

Charmayne Maxwell, a member of 1990s R&B group 'Brownstone', has died at the age of 46.

Charmayne passed away here on February 28. Her brother, Brandon, confirmed the news on Twitter by posting a photograph of Charmayne smiling.

"R.I.P my beautiful sister Charmayne 'Maxee' Maxwell I can't even believe I'm typing this right now...Bad things happened to the most innocent people. My sister died in the most terrible way and I'm in so much pain right now. I can't stop shaking," he said.

"I'd love to be with my nephew Nicolaj right now...I feel bad that he has to deal with the loss of his mother at such a young age," Brandon added.

As per reports, Charmayne was found unconscious and bleeding from a cut to her neck.

Her husband, music producer Carsten Soulshock, returned home and found her "bleeding profusely, but still had pulse." He then called police and paramedics rushed her to Cedars Sinai Hospital. However, she passed away on the way to the hospital because she lost too much blood.

The police officials said that it was a broken wine glass that cut Charmayne's neck. Detectives reportedly didn't suspect foul play.

Charmayne's group Brownstone was signed to Michael Jackson's MJJ Music Label in 1994. Their biggest hit "If You Love Me" won a Billboard Music Award and was nominated for a Grammy for best R&B performance.
