British television presenter Claudia Winkleman says she is done with Instagram because it is all about "showing off". The "Strictly Come Dancing" host said she finds the photo-sharing platform's concept "bizarre" because its focus is all about watching other people and sharing your own moments instead of concentrating on actually living your life, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
In her for The Sunday Times Style magazine, Winkleman said: "Instead of living, I was watching other people living. And worse, they were stopping what they were doing and capturing and sharing instead of living it, too... Instagram is simply showing off. "It's, 'Look at me!' It's, 'Isn't life fantastic?' It's, 'I can't believe how great I look!' It's, 'Wow, look at my thigh gap!' It's, 'We're still in love!' And it's bizarre."
While Winkleman, 46, defended people who have private Instagram accounts and use it to share memories with family and friends, she hit out at the idea of people putting everything out there for "strangers".
