Robert Pattinson is Edward Cullen no more. The actor, who created a mass hysteria with his screen role in Twilight, has suddenly dropped out of filming of the sequel New Moon.

The dishy dude has cited the fierce fan attention as the reason.

R-Patz went on to say that he's very grateful for the opportunity and success of the first Twilight movie, but has decided to shift his focus to smaller indie movies like Little Ashes.

His co-star Taylor Lautner has already volunteered to take on the role of Edward, but there's no word yet on what will happen.

Enraged fans have already started sending costume vampire teeth to Robert as a plea to get him back, but it looks like he's sticking to his decision.
