The industry grapevine is abuzz about Irrfan having been signed for an international show, which is a joint venture between Japan and the US. The yet-to-be-titled show will go on air in a few months with the actor playing a judge in it, suggest sources.

An industry insider reveals, "Irrfan had a meeting with the makers of the Japanese-American show and he really liked his role and the script. After an initial narration, he gave his nod and will begin shooting in California. It will be a period drama and he has a powerful role in it. "Irrfan's last Hollywood film was Jurassic World in which he played the park owner, Simon Masrani.
He is also on board for the forthcoming adaptation of Dan Brown's Inferno starring Tom Hanks. Only a few days ago, he returned to the country from Budapest, Hungary, after wrapping up his portion in
the latter.
Another source says that the makers are still working out details of the show and are expected to make an official announcement in the next couple of months. "Irrfan has few assignments here, so he will probably fly to California only after completing them. At the moment, he is required to shoot some portions for Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa and then promote Meghna Gulzar's Talvar," adds the source.
Irrfan remained unavailable for comment.
