Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is cutting ties with Warner Bros after a 15-year exclusive pact

Los Angeles: Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is cutting ties with Warner Bros after a 15-year exclusive pact.

The producer's television division is looking to become an independently financed operation, allowing them to retain a greater ownership interest and rights to its shows. He told WB Television of the decision earlier this year, reported Variety.

Bruckheimer's TV division currently consists of Fox's "Lucifer", which was renewed in April, and upcoming CBS reboot "Training Day."

"We've always been entrepreneurial. We've always loved trying new things," Bruckheimer said.

"Warner Bros is fantastic, they've been great partners. We're not out of business with them, we're just no longer exclusive with them."

The two have six development projects in the works and Bruckheimer noted that he's also working for the studio on the film side. "Hopefully we will continue our relationship," he added.

His exclusive deal with Warner Bros started in 2001 after "CSI" became a hit for CBS. Bruckheimer TV's hits since it has been with the studio include "Without A Trace" and "Cold
Case."
