Katie Holmes to star in 'How I Met Your Mother'

Actress Katie Holmes is returning to her television roots for a cameo in US comedy show "How I Met Your Mother".



Holmes, who rose to fame with TV series "Dawson's Creek", will play the woman in the "slutty pumpkin" costume, who was introduced to fans as a faceless character in the first season of "How I Met Your Mother", reports Contactmusic.com.

"Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we've saved for her perhaps the most classily named character in our show's history," said Craig Thomas, the show creator.
