The acclaimed star of 'The Wolf of Wall Street' and upcoming 'Suicide Squad', Margot Robbie opened up about what drew her to play Jane in the upcoming Tarzan movie.

"I loved its sense of adventure; its epic and feels like a mix of all the films that I adore." But she also sees 'The Legend of Tarzan' as a love story. "It's not something we were trying to inject; it was already on the page. They are both strong people - Jane is emotionally strong, just as Tarzan is physically strong - and they are so madly in love with each other that when they get separated, you root for them to get back together," she said.
Robbie added that she was thrilled to explore a complex, thoroughly modern female character in the film. "In spite of the fact that she is being held captive for much of the film, Jane is defiant and independent - almost to a fault sometimes," details the actress, cutting quite the contemporary figure herself in Jane's vintage silks. "I think that's one of the qualities I loved most about the role."
Her co-star Alexander Skarsgard agrees, saying, "This is quite the opposite of any previous adaptations of this famous story, which are about taming the beast. This is about releasing the beast. It's an interesting dichotomy that I think is timeless and universal since we, as human beings, all struggle with that. We live in cities and function somewhat successfully next to strangers, but, at the same time, we're animals."
