Australian actor Joel Edgerton is all set to appear in a controversial new film about the hunt for Osama bin Laden.
The as-yet untitled film is to be directed by Kathryn Bigelow, who won a best director Oscar for the 2008 Iraq War drama 'The Hurt Locker', Stuff.co.nz reported.
The script, which focuses on the activities of a Navy SEAL team, has been in preparation for a long time.
Although, Edgerton had been involved early on, later, he reportedly dropped out because of scheduling conflicts that have now been resolved.
''I had signed on to do the project when the initial script was almost done. I knew what it was about and then bin Laden was killed and the whole thing wasu00a0... like a house of cards, it had to be kind of knocked over and rebuilt,'' news site Indiewire had quoted him as saying last year.
Edgerton is currently shooting Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby in Sydney. Another Australian actor from that movie, Jason Clarke, is also said to be in the cast of Bigelow's film. Shooting for the movie is due to begin next month.
