British singer Sam Smith went straight to number one in the UK pop charts on Friday with Writing's On The Wall, the theme song to the upcoming James Bond film Spectre, making it the first title track for a 007 movie to be a chart-topper.
The song knocked Justin Beiber's What Do You Mean? from the top spot after three weeks and gave Smith his fifth British number one single, the official charts company said.
Writing's On The Wall had already topped the charts on iTunes earlier.
The 23-year-old singer said that this was a special moment that he would never forget, adding it was such an honour to be asked to write and record the song.
Smith also beat Adele's mighty Skyfall and, as of now, the single has sold 70,000 copies since its release.
