Washington: Indian child actor Sunny Pawar met President Barack Obama at the White House to raise awareness for the #LionHeart campaign.

Sunny, who features in Hollywood film "Lion" visited the White House on Monday in his capacity as ambassador for the #LionHeart campaign. He was in Washington, DC to help raise awareness for the initiative that provides financial support and resources to children in India.

The Weinstein Company, See-Saw Films, and The Charity Network launched the #LionHeart campaign in November 2016.

Since its launch, the initiative has raised over $100,000 for its mission to assistance to the over 11 million homeless youth of India.

The eight-year-old stars as Nicole Kidman's son in critically-acclaimed "Lion".

The Garth Davis-directorial revolves around a five-year-old Indian boy who gets lost on the streets of Kolkata, thousands of kilometers from home. He survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia. And 25 years later, he sets out to find his lost family.

"Lion" also features Rooney Mara and British actor of Indian descent Dev Patel, besides Indian actors Deepti Naval, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Priyanka Bose and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Releasing in India on February 24, "Lion" has been shot in Kolkata as well as in Australia.
