Los Angeles: On the third death anniversary of Whitney Houston's death, her family members took to social networking sites like Facebook and Instagram to post tributes to the late singer and actress, who left a powerful impact on the world with her talent.

Houston died February 11, 2012, at the age of 48. She was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub in the Beverly Hilton hotel just before the Grammy Awards. Authorities said she accidentally drowned, and investigators listed heart disease and cocaine use as contributors to her death.

Tina Brown, Houston's sister-in-law, wrote a Facebook message about the Grammy winner.

"I miss you MY sister...rip nip..I miss you sis...like crazy...rip my sister...," she posted, adding that she was "feeling heartbroken".

In an ironic turn of events, Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was rushed to the hospital after being found unresponsive in a bathtub of a townhouse in Roswell, Georgia January 31. Bobbi Kristina, whose circumstances mimic that of her mother, is currently fighting for her life in a hospital and is on life support.

The family has been calling for continued prayers for Bobbi Kristina, but in the meantime they have taken a moment to honour their late relative, reports a leading website.

Bobbi Kristina's cousin, Jerod Brown, posted a lengthy message in honour of the "My love is your love" singer and included the last photograph he ever took with his aunt.

"You will never know the last moment you will experience, the last conversation you will have, the last photo you will take. Well this was the last photo we took with you auntie and if I would have known that I would've taken a few more... In life we forget to take a few more photos, share a few more laughs, shed a few more tears, overcome a few more struggles, mentor a few more people," he wrote.
