Tom Hanks had to learn to drive a scooter for his latest film Larry Crowne in order to give a smooth ride to co-star Julia Roberts.
He even decided to get a proper licence to drive a two-wheeler, but he had no idea it would be such a stressful process.
The 54-year-old actor admitted that the driving test was one of the most difficult things he has ever had to do.
"You gotta get a learner's permit first and, in order to do that, you've gotta pass a written test and that sucker is diabolical... Physics and common sense enter in to cars... but, for a scooter, they try to mess with your mind, man," Hanks said.
"I have never been so nervous taking this (test). I stayed up all night, I crammed... I went to the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) with a pot of coffee and sandwiches... There were only three easy questions out of 45... I answered five and then I had to take a nap; I was exhausted.
"I was struggling for an hour-and-a-half on this one question. I burst into tears...," he added. Hanks showed off his scootering skills again when he appeared on a late-night TV show, revealing that he had biked to the studio.
