A social media post by a fan who claimed to be in the same flight as BTS, as they flew to the US for their upcoming concert and performances, has caused a major controversy. The fan posted on Instagram that while group member Park Jimin was seated in Business class, all the other BTS band members were flying first class. Soon the post went viral and Army was enraged by the discrimination towards Jimin.
The post read, "Although many of you might be jealous that I flew on a plane with BTS and was able to reach themâ¦I am currently regretting my choice not to buy a first class ticket. If it was, I would have been able to see the members during the full 11-hour flight. However, I noticed that Jimin was in business class (Prestige) and I purposely entered the bathroom a hundred times just to see him."

Later as the post went on to spark major controversy the fan posted, "I am ashamed of my thoughts and actions and want to sincerely apologize. I feel very honored to meet BTS on the same plane and I think I want to show off because I am so happy. Of course filming them secretly and taking photos is childish. But at the same time I was thinking when in my life would I ever be able to see V right in front of me like that? So I recorded it landing before the bodyguards came. But I knew that posting this was a mistake, so I immediately deleted the post. And went to the bathroom a hundred times? No way. It was only once and I happened to see Jimin. I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable so I walked quickly and I didn't see who was next to him, because all I saw was Jimin (does this make sense?)I heard that everything was under fire because of what I posted. I'm not making this up and feel that it's best to explain everything exactly as I experienced it and apologize."
