After receiving unanimous praise internationally, Dev Patel's much-awaited fantasy epic The Green Knight is now coming to Indian shores.
A cinematic adaptation of the famous 14th century Arthurian poem, the film tells the story of Sir Gawain, King Arthur's fierce and headstrong nephew who sets out on a legendary journey to face the mythical "Green Knight". Helmed by "A Ghost Story" and "Pete's Dragon" director David Lowery, the movie is touted to be a visually stunning extravaganza that delivers a meaningful message.

Talking about why he chose this project, David says, "I saw an opportunity to tell a story about an individual taking baby steps towards realising that integrity is more important than legacy". On his own connection with the theme, he adds, "To make a film about the pursuit of one's integrity is something that matters to me a great deal; it's something that I am personally always persevering towards."
With glowing reviews and strong awards buzz, The Green Knight sure looks like a power-packed period drama that just can't be missed. Starring Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, and Joel Edgerton among others, The Green Knight is being released in India by PVR Pictures on August 27, 2021.
