The unfortunate news of Matthew Perry death shook the entire world. At the age of 54, the Friends actor passed away due to an alleged drowning at a Los Angeles area home on Saturday. Matthew is best known for immortalising the role of Chandler Bing in the iconic television series.
Soon after the death news broke, celebrities across the country united to pay tributes to Matthew and his legacy. Indian celebrities offered condolences on social media.
Ranveer Singh shared a black and white picture of Matthew and offered his condolence. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra joined in to pay their tributes.

Vir Das penned a note on X. It read, "In most great comedy scenes there's a character who IS the audience. Very tough character to pull off. Matthew Perry was that on Friends. The one who, like us, sees how idiotic this all is. Super hard to combine that with being silly yourself. He walked that line perfectly."

Popularly known for playing the role of Chandler Bing in the iconic television series, Friends, the actor allegedly drowned in the jacuzzi at a Los Angeles-area home on Saturday (in the US). According to a report in TMZ, the Friends actor returned home after a 2-hour session of pickleball and sent his assistant out on an errand. However, when the assistant returned after reportedly 2 hours, he discovered Matthew unresponsive and raised an alarm by calling 911.
As per the TMZ report, law enforcement sources informed the publication that Matthew was found Saturday at a Los Angeles area home where he appeared to have drowned. The report further stated that first responders rushed over on a call for cardiac arrest. Further details on the reason behind the untimely demise are yet to be disclosed.
In his memoir, titled Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, Matthew spoke out in detail about his substance abuse issues and revealed that his struggles left him needing 12 surgeries and saw him enter rehab 15 different times, which cost him around $9 million.
