Russell Brand has delved back into the pages of his marriage history, this time retracing the chapters shared with the renowned songstress Katy Perry. In a candid exchange on "Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge" aired on Sunday, Brand unreservedly unpacked his experiences from his fleeting marital union with Perry, accentuating the luminous fame, the disconnection, and the whirlwind of tumult he encountered during that chapter of his life. Brand also didn't hold back in expressing his admiration for the singer, lauding her as an "amazing person."
"That was when I was sort of most in the public eye and working in America," said Brand, adding that "some aspects of that were amazing." reflected Brand, weaving his thoughts on the time he shared with Perry.
He continued, acknowledging Perry's remarkable qualities, "She's an amazing person. It was kind of incredible to live for a moment in that eye of the cyclone type aspect of fame,"
Brand opened up further, stating, "Aside from my sort of feelings of affection for Katy, it's a time that I remember has been a little bit chaotic and a bit for me⦠a little disconnected,"

It's worth noting that Brand and Perry tied the knot in 2010; however, their matrimonial journey was abruptly cut short after merely 14 months, marked by Brand's choice to convey their separation via a text message. Following their parting, Perry found solace in the companionship of John Mayer. Presently, she's romantically linked with actor Orlando Bloom, and the couple is parents to a two-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
"I am working a lot, and I've always worked a lot ⦠but I don't have a full-time nanny because I feel like if I had a full-time nanny then I would never be able to know how to care for my daughter like I'm meant to," Perry candidly shared on the Smartless podcast in September 2022.
She elaborated on her parenting philosophy, revealing, "Even if I've had a performance that stretches into the late hours until 11 p.m. the prior night, I'm up at 6 o'clock, ready to embark on our shared breakfast ritual."
