American singer Selena Gomez, who had once collaborated with South Korean girl band BLACKPINK is now dating record producer and songwriter Benny Blanco, a BTS ARMY. He recently launched his cookbook Open Wide on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and baked a BTS-themed purple cake for the occasion.
BTS is a South Korean boy band comprising seven members - RM, Jimin, Jin, Suga, Jungkook, V, and J-hope. For those unversed, purple is a symbol of love for the BTS ARMY since V said "Do you know what purple means? Purple is the last colour of all the rainbow colours, so it means I will trust and love you for a long time." This gave birth to the phrase "I Purple You".

The show's Instagram handle posted a video of Benny inserting a GoPro inside the cake and the two relishing it. Benny also shared a picture of the four-layer cake and tagged BigHit on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption, "I made a cake today."
Selena also took to Instagram and shared how proud she is by posting a picture of her kissing the cookbook.
As per Harper Collins, the book teaches you everything you need to know about cooking, enjoying life, and throwing the greatest dinner party of all time.
Benny worked with Selena on her song 'I Can't Get Enough' in 2019 which fuelled dating rumours. Selena infamously dated Justin Bieber off and on for eight years. They split for the final time in March 2018 just months before he married Hailey Bieber. Blanco was previously linked to actress Elsie Hewitt.
Earlier this year, Selena appeared on Apple Music 1's New Music Daily and revealed how her connection with Blanco made her feel comfortable. "Without getting into too much detail, I think it's just really important to meet someone that respects you," the artist explained.
"And I think it's nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in. But I'd have to say overall it's the safest that I feel and it's been really lovely and I've only grown through it, so it's awesome."
She and the celebrity record producer acknowledged their romance in December 2023, although having known one another for much longer.
A source close to the couple told People in January that Gomez has been "super happy and present" since beginning her relationship with Blanco.
"She seems to be feeling herself at the moment," the insider said. "Maybe that's Benny or maybe that's just where she's at personally and professionally."
