Anushka Shetty is termed as the Lady Superstar, a term that doesn't reality land in your repertoire easily. The actress has amassed a massive fan following all over the nation and over the years, transcended national boundaries. For us, she may have become a force to reckon with after the cult of the Baahubali films, but for the fans down South, she has been a staggering performer ever since she made her debut.
The South population is arguably the craziest when it comes to creating a frenzy and worshiping their most adored star. The visuals of her posters being garlanded and bathed with milk during the release of Baahubali cannot be forgotten, a ritual usually reserved for the male stars. But Shetty has refused to be buried under the massive expectations of the audience and wants to dabble with different genres and characters.
This is precisely the reason why Nishabdham is her latest film. She teams up with R. Madhavan for a psychological mystery that sets the tone with its eerie narrative and noir frames. A multi-lingual thriller directed by Hemant Madhukar, there's not a single dialogue in the teaser, and that's the big news. The teaser of her next film is out and looks like a solid whodunit. Take a look right here:
Shetty plays a mute character, and given her chops, allows her eyes and facial muscles to do all the talking. She's trapped in a murder mystery but also happens to be one of the suspects. A murder triggers the plot and all the characters are surreptitious and suspects. What strikes you immediately is the background score, that accompanies the tense tone of the thriller. It's hard to tell what could have been a better birthday gift for all her fans!
