What keeps you busy these days?
I am shooting for the film Bisile with Diganth. I am reading scripts that have been offered to me following the success of the film, Mast Maja Madi.
When you want to unwind, you...u00a0
Watch movies. I am a total movie buff. When I am not sprawled out on my bed watching DVDs, I am sure to be at a coffee shop with my friends. I also catch the latest releases at any of the multiplexes in town.
So far, you've done only glamorous roles. Are you playing safe?u00a0u00a0
I want to entertain people who come to watch my films. I am offered youthful and peppy roles all the time, and I enjoy doing them. I believe that people should be able to forget their problems when they watch a film. They should enjoy the three hours that they spend in a theatre. That's why I'm a part of commercial films. I want my fans to remember me as a full paisa vasool heroine. Teenaged girls copy my style of dressing and talking, and I consider that a huge compliment.
Has it been smooth sailing for you in the industry?
I got to work with professionals from my very first film, Jogi. I consider myself a newcomer though I have over 10 releases to my credit. I learn a lot from the stars I work with. In consider myself lucky because I continue to get offers whether my films do average business or turn out to be hits. Interestingly, every film of mine has a hit song, which helps me connect with the masses.
Who is your role model on screen?
Sridevi. I wish I get to act a film like Chalbaaz. She's superb in that film. As a person, I enjoy watching films in all languages. If I am offered the lead role in a commercial film, I will do it whether it is a Spanish film or a Chinese film!u00a0u00a0
Is Bangalore the city you now call home?
Though I'm a Mumbai-girl at heart, I feel completely at home in Bangalore. I love the city, the climate, the people and the food. I'm a total foodie. I'm currently living on butter masala dosas! Dieting isn't for me. I believe in the mantra, 'Be yourself, be happy and eat well'.
