Director Yogaraj Bhat seems to be still basking in the glory of Mungaru Male. That romantic comedy became the biggest hit in Kannada films and made stars of director Bhat and hero Ganesh. In Manasare, the dialogues again control the film. The first half is interesting, especially the build-up when the hero is mistaken for a looney, but the movie drags a bit later.

Beauty in black: Aindritha Ray is good in Manasare

What's it about: Manohar (Diganth), a lazy boy, tries to impress people with new business ideas and invests in a new project which flops. Completely frustrated and depressed, he gets drunk and is walking on the highway, when he meets some mental hospital inmates. The rehab staff pick him up thinking he is mentally challenged.

When he tries to escape from the hospital, he realizes that he is in love with a patient, Devika (Aindritha Ray).

Manohar doesn't want to leave the hospital, because he is smitten by Devika. Manasare tells the story of a romantic couple trapped in a rehab centre. As you may expect, the situation offers enough scope for situational comedy.

What's Hot: Comedian Raju Talikote keeps you entertained and Aindritha has done justice to her role. Mano Murthy's music is melodious.

What's not: Diganth tends to act like Ganesh, and may disappoint you if you are expecting to see him emerge as an original talent.

Verdict: Watch the movie if you are in the mood for a few laughs.
