The popular micro-blogging site, Twitter recently announced its report on the most influential moments of 2017 and The Golden Tweet of 2017 which belongs to southern superstar - Suriya Sivakumar. The actor's tweet which unveiled the second poster of his upcoming movie - Thaana Serndha Kootam. It earned a whopping 112, 984 likes and 68, 808 retweets! Thaana Serndha Kootam is directed by Vignesh Shivn, and also stars Keerthy Suresh. This film will see the first time pairing of Suriya with Keerthy and the film is aimed for a worldwide release on Pongal 2018.

Suriya has managed to beat the likes Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan who also enjoy a massive fan following on social media.

The southern domination on Twitter doesn't end here. Apart from bagging the most retweeted tweet of this year, south stars have also made their presence felt in Hashtag trends. Mersal starring Thalapathy Vijay managed to rake in a whopping 1.7 million tweets in three days, thus becoming the top hashtag trend in 2017. While Baahubali introduced to a new 1000 crore club at the box-office, Vijay's Mersal has become the only Tamil film to earn Rs 250 crore at the box office worldwide.
