Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara
Actor Nayanthara heaped praise on her husband, director Vignesh Shivan at the success party of their new brand, Femi 9. The actress spoke about how people talk about women being the reason behind successful men and not vice versa. She credited her husband for helping her reach where she is at today.
Addressing the crowd at the bash, Nayanthara said, "We have heard the phrase that there is a woman behind every man's success. But it's rare to see a man stand for a successful and happy woman. I haven't seen that a lot," she smiled, adding, "I met my husband through a film. We fell in love and got married because since the day I met him, he has only taught me to aim for bigger things."
Further, Nayanthara shared that Vignesh is the kind of person who has always pushed her to do more than question her decisions. He has never questioned my decisions. I always thought it's a good thing if people don't question us. But, we also need a person to say âwhy aren't you doing more, why are you stopping with this?' I found that person in Vignesh," she said.
Vignesh and Nayanthara met on the sets of the film 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' which was directed by the filmmaker. The film starred Vijay Sethupathi opposite Nayanthara. They got married in 2022 after dating for a couple of years. Today, they are parents to twins Uyir and Ulag.

As for the success bash of their brand, the main agenda was to address menstrual health and spread awareness about the same. "Earlier we were hesitant even to utter the words sanitary napkins. But today, on this stage, I can talk about sanitary napkins in public without hesitation. We have come a long way as a society," she said. "However, we have a long way to go because many women are yet to be aware of menstrual health. Our aim now is to ensure we spread awareness," she added.
Meanwhile, Nayanthara's latest release 'Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food' has landed in a soup for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of a section of people. Following the backlash and an FIR, Netflix has pulled down the film from the platform.
