Rajinikanth, Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut
Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut-starrer 'Chandramukhi 2' hit the screens on September 28 with a largely positive response. The prequel to the film that was released in 2005 starred Rajinikanth in the primary role. Now, the superstar has shared his appreciation for the film and penned a note. While he praised the director Vasu and lead star Raghava Lawrence, he missed out on mentioning Kangana.
In a note shared on social media, Rajinikanth wrote in Tamil, "My best wishes to director P Vasu for presenting his biggest blockbuster Chandramukhi in a completely new angle as a great entertainer to cinema lovers, and to Raghava Lawrence for his wonderful acting, and the entire team."
Lyca Productions, the house that backed the film, took to X and reshared the note and wrote, "A surprise from Thalaivar @rajinikanth. We are honored by your praise for #Chandramukhi2. Thank you Thalaivar!".

Raghava Lawrence also took to his X handle to share the note and a picture of him hugging Rajinikanth. "This has made my day, a surprise love note from my Brother, my Guru, my Thalaivar Superstar @rajinikanth. What more praise would we need for #Chandramukhi2 - your encouragement means the world to us. ðÂÂÂð» Thank you Thalaiva! Guruve Saranam," he wrote referring to the superstar as his guru.
Even though Kangana was not specifically named in the note, the actress took to her Instagram stories to share the note and thank the superstar. "Appreciation Letter from Thalaivar Rajinikanth for the success of #chandramukhi2," she wrote.
Directed by P Vasu, the film sees Kangana play the role of a dancer in a king's court and a role similar to Jyotika's in 'Chandramukhi'. Her character is known for her exceptional dancing skills and beauty. Raghava Lawrence plays the role of King Vettaiyan Raja in the film. The first film, a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, was released in 2005.
'Chandramukhi 2' is produced by Lyca Productions and Subaskaran, and the film was released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. The film's music is composed by Oscar-winner MM Keeravani who had previously praised the film and called it 'mind-blowing'.
