Mrunal Thakur
Almost a year after Mrunal Thakur's Sita Ramam (2022) hit theatres, the actor continues to receive accolades for her performance in the period romantic drama. The actor is set to be felicitated with the Diversity in Cinema Award at the upcoming Indian Film Festival of Melbourne for the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer. During the festival's annual gala on August 11, which also marks a year in the south Indian film industry for the actor, she will be conferred with the gong.
"I am honoured and humbled. This recognition reaffirms my belief in the power of storytelling, which transcends languages and cultures. As an artiste, I've always aimed to explore a wide spectrum of characters, and this award motivates me to continue pushing boundaries and taking up roles that challenge and inspire me," says Thakur, who is all set to feature in Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti's Made in Heaven and is filming for the Telugu film Hi Nanna, opposite Nani, among other things.
