Rajinikanth is doing fine, reveals south lyricist Vairamuthu

After pictures of Rajinikanth outside a hospital in the US went viral, there has been speculation about his health. South lyricist and Thalaiva's close aide, Vairamuthu, cleared the air by providing a health update. He shared that Rajini had called him and informed him that his check-up went well. In a Twitter post, the lyricist revealed that Rajinikanth is hale and hearty. A section of netizens expressed disappointment over Rajini's friendship with Vairamuthu despite singer Chinmayi and others levelling sexual harassment charges against the lyricist.

Earlier, Rajini along with daughter Aishwarya Dhanush was clicked outside the Mayo Clinic in the US post his check-up. The Thalaiva was unable to travel earlier due to shooting commitments and Covid-19 restrictions. Fans have been wishing him good health. Rajnikanth, who was all set to join politics had activated the Rajni Fans club "Rajini Makkal Mandram", across the state during 2020 and was to announce his political entry. However, after some health ailments, and on expert medical advice, he opted out of the race. Rajinikanth had undergone kidney replacement surgery in the US four years ago.

On the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in AR Murugadoss's 'Darbar', which released in theatres in 2020. 'Darbar' also starred Nayanthara, Nivetha Thomas, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, among others. He is presently busy with director Siruthai Siva's 'Annaatthe'.
