The world of Tamil cinema is mourning the loss of a beloved artist, RS Shivaji, who breathed his last at the age of 66. The veteran actor bid farewell to this world on Saturday, September 2, succumbing to a cardiac arrest. The saddening news was officially confirmed through a heartfelt Facebook post shared on the late actor's official handle, leaving fans and colleagues grieving.
The post read, "My appa RS Shivaji had a cardiac arrest and has passed away suddenly. Appa's body is at Narayani Apartments, Kamaraj Salai, RA Puram, Chennai 28. Thank you, everyone, for all your support at this hour." The loss was deeply felt by the entire film industry, with production houses like Sun Pictures, Lyca Productions, and others paying their respects to the late actor.
RS Shivaji, celebrated for his impeccable comic timing, has left an indelible mark on the world of Tamil cinema. He was the son of actor and producer MR Santhanam and the brother of the acclaimed filmmaker Santhana Bharathi. His journey in the world of cinema commenced in the 1980s, spanning over four remarkable decades.
Throughout his illustrious career, RS Shivaji graced the silver screen in numerous memorable roles. Some of his iconic films include Sathya, Apoorva Sagodharangal, Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Anbe Sivam, Aayutha Ezhuthu, Soorarai Pottru, Kolamavu Kokila, and Gargi.
