Suhasini Hasan and Mani Ratnam
Throwback Thursday: Suhasini Hasan took to her social media handle to revisit her old pictures from her wedding with filmmaker Mani Ratnam. The duo got married in 1988. They have worked together in many hit films and always credit each other for the success of their careers. Suhasini Hasan was informed by her friends that her wedding pictures are going viral on social media and decided to revisit them herself.
On Thursday, Suhasini took to her Instagram handle to share a collage of pictures from their wedding day. For the big day, Suhasini opted for a traditional red and green saree draped in Tamil Nadu style. She wore golden necklaces and other temple jewellery for the wedding day. In one picture, Suhasini is seen posing with a flower garland around her neck. In one of the pictures, possibly from their reception, Suhasini can be seen in a happy conversation with Mani Ratnam. While Suhasini wore a deep sea blue saree with red border, Mani Ratnam opted for a simple look in a white kurta for the reception.
Sharing the happy pictures which are now over 30 years old, Suhasini wrote, "3 ppl sent me these pictures. Saying it is going viral. Now I realise viral has no rhyme or reason. Is viral positive? Don't know."

Suhasini Hasan and Mani Ratnam's marriage:
Last year, Suhasini opened up about her decision to marry at a young age. In an interview with ABP, she was asked, "Do you sometimes feel being Mani Ratnam's wife is also a full-time job?" Suhasini replied and said, "It's more than a full-time job. 24 hours are not enough to be Mani Ratnam's wife, but that's how women work all the time. See, when I was young, 20 years old, hormones worked differently. I wanted to stay in an apartment with some of my girlfriends and not get into family issues, not even get married. I wanted a career, and I wanted my freedom. But then slowly, when you get into a family setup, something happens within you which takes over."
She added, "I cannot believe that I'm the same woman today who was 20 years ago. I'm completely different. I am Florence Nightingale, Mother Teresa, everything bundled into one, but it's my own wish. I don't think anybody forced me to do it."
Further talking about what their day-to-day life looks like, she said, "We really have a good time. We have the moonlight, and we have the breeze from the beach, and we have the best food available on Earth - South Indian food. And then we sit opposite each other and we enjoy the food and say how lucky we are. Very few people do that, I think, you know. We're very happy with each other's company and what the world has given us. We are not bored of each other yet."
Suhasini and Mani Ratnam are parents to a son-Nandan.
