Kalki 2898 AD at San Diego
Nag Ashwin's upcoming directorial made a grand debut at the San Diego Comic con on July 20. The team unveiled the teaser and new title of the film at the popular comic con event. Nag Ashwin, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan were present at the event while Amitabh Bachchan joined virtually. Rana Daggubati who was present at the event to announce his own content slate also supported team of 'Project K' (now Kalki 2898 AD).
The grand announcemet was preceded by a traditional performance at the San Diego comic con stage. Representing the culture of India, the audience were treated to a traditional chenda melam performance by experts and a semi classical performance by a group of women dressed in white traditional Kerala saree. The Chenda melam is a popular music form from Kerala. The Chenda is used as a percussion instrument for almost all Kerala art forms like Kathakali, Kodiyattam, Theyyam etc. Chenda melam is the most popular form in Kerala, for more than 300 years.

As for the film, 'Project K' will now be called 'Kalki 2898AD' and the title launch along with the teaser was made at the San Diego Comic con. Taking to Instagram, actor Prabhas shared the first glimpse which he captioned, "PROJECT -K is now #Kalki2898AD Here's a small glimpse into our world."
The grand unveiling of 'Kalki 2898 AD' took place at the prestigious San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), where the film captivated audiences with its visionary concept and spellbinding visuals. The new title perfectly encapsulates the essence of the film, generating curiosity and excitement among fans and cinephiles worldwide.
Directed by Nag Ashwin,'Kalki 2898 AD' promises to transport audiences to a world never seen before in Indian cinema. The film's premise, set in the distant future of 2898 AD, seamlessly blends futuristic elements with rich storytelling, offering an unparalleled and immersive cinematic experience.
The 1-minute 16-second teaser showcased a world set in the future and a few glimpses of Deepika, Prabhas, and Amitabh Bachchan. The film is all set to hit the theatres on January 12, 2024.
