Carlos Alcaraz
Indian netizens is almost convinced that the Twitter handle of Wimbledon is being handled by an Indian. Upon Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz's win at Wimbledon 2023, the official handle of the tournament shared a poster inspired by Thalapathy Vijay's film 'Master' to celebrate the big win. Soon after his win, the official handle of Wimbledon took to Twitter and replaced Thalapthy Vijay with Carlos Alcaraz in the massy poster of the 2021 film 'Master'. In the poster, Alcaraz is seen shushing while facing towards the camera while the other young players are seen with their back towards the camera.
Sharing their artwork of Carlos Alcaraz using 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master second look poster as a reference, the Wimbledon Twitter page wrote, "MASTER A NEW (king face emoji) OF #Wimbledon (sic)".

This is not the first time that the Wimbledon handle has referenced to Thalapathy Vijay or Tamil cinema on the handle. In 2022, marking Roger Federer's arrival at the sporting event, the admin made use of the song 'Vaathi Coming' from the film 'Master'. The film was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starred Thalapathy Vijay as a school teacher. The duo recently wrapped up the shoot of their film 'Leo' which also stars Sanjay Dutt.
Talking about the game, twenty-year-old Alcaraz produced a masterful comeback performance against seven-time champion Novak Djokovic to win the men's singles final match 1-6, 7-6(6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 at the Centre Court on Sunday. Following his maiden Wimbledon title win, young Spanish tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz expressed his admiration for the Serbian legend who fought his heart out in the final, saying that Djokovic is an inspiration for him. "I have to congratulate Novak, it was amazing to play against him. You inspire me a lot. I started playing tennis watching you. Since I was born you were already winning tournaments. You said 36 is the new 26 and you make that happen. It is amazing," said Alcaraz after the game.
