Ekta Kapoor
Ekta Kapoor now prefers to be called content czarina and not the czarina of the small screen. She no longer wants to be known as the creator of saas-bahu soaps. The change in title being due to her foray into the digital medium.
She has roped in Habib Faisal to direct Home, starring Annu Kapoor. Meanwhile, Subhash Kapoor is calling the shot for The Verdict, which is based on the Nanavati case. She is also releasing the Hindi version of Kamal Haasan's Vishawaroopam 2 in certain regions. Imtiaz Ali is directing a love story for her banner. Reason enough?
Recently, Ekta Kapoor has announced that she is going to come up with a remake of an old saga on the small screen. Without divulging more details, Ekta on Thursday tweeted: "So, met Star Plus team yesterday! Emotional moment for me! About to announce a âremake' of a old epic saga! Let the ride of nostalgia begin."
Ekta is known for soaps like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kaahin Kissii Roz, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Pavitra Rishta, Bade Acche Lagte Hain, and Jodha Akbar. She has also produced the television series Naagin, Ye Hai Mohabbatein, Kumkum Bhagya, Chandrakanta, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki and several others.
