Jennifer Winget is returning to television with 'Beyhadh', two years after 'Saraswatichandra' went off air. Before signing the thriller series, she had been busy with Kunal Kohli's 'Phir Se', which would have marked her solo lead debut in Bollywood. The film was supposed to hit theatres in June last year, but is now stuck after being embroiled in a copyright row.
The actress says she is unsure of the film's fate: "I did ask Kunal, but I no longer have the time to find out more about it anymore because Beyhadh takes up all my time." Daawat-E-Ishq (2014) writer Jyoti Kapoor had filed a case with Film Writers Association (FWA) in November 2014 after she found out about Kohli's film. Jyoti found his premise similar to the one she had narrated to him in January 2013. Kohli denied the allegation, but was asked to put his film's shoot on hold till the case was resolved. The FWA sent both scripts to experts for comparison and eventually, ruled in Jyoti's favour.
Jennifer says shoot and dubbing for the film have long been completed. "Now it's in the hands of god," she adds. After her divorce from Karan Singh Grover (now married to Bipasha Basu) in 2014, Jennifer says she hasn't lost faith in the institution of marriage and is ready to mingle. "I am single, ready to mingle and jingle, but how do you know I am not mingling now?" she winks.
