Controversy over a short film featuring deceased television actress Pratyusha Banerjee reached the Dindoshi Sessions Court, which issued a stay order on it yesterday. Titled Hum Kuch Keh Na Sakey, the 10-minute movie is said to be the last work of the actress, who allegedly committed suicide on April 1 last year.
When Pratyusha's 'bestie', actress Kamya Punjabi shared plans of unveiling the film today as a tribute, her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh called it a publicity stunt and argued the video had been made using old footage.
After registering a complaint with Versova police, Rahul filed an injunction petition in court through his lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare. The matter was heard last morning.
Hum Kuch Keh⦠revolves around heartbreak and depression, apparently the reasons behind Pratyusha's shocking death.
In the injunction application, Rahul states Kamya has also uploaded a video of the short film on YouTube and that an abusive character is named after him. It shows Pratyusha being mistreated by 'Rahul' and then drowning in depression. The film, Rahul argues, is defamatory and prejudices people's minds.
The matter will come up for hearing again today.
