Priyanka Chopra is said to have turned down an offer to mentor contestants on the desi version of 'The Voice', a singing reality contest on American TV. Reason? A recently launched channel, which has bought the rights to the show, apparently could not meet her steep fee demand - Rs 10 crore.
Says a source, "Priyanka had shown interest in the project, but the deal eventually fell through. The channel couldn't afford her." A source close to PC says though she has got several offers to judge shows, it was her hectic schedule and not the money factor that was keeping her from accepting them.
"In three months, she has to fly down to the US for work. So, till the end of this year, she won't be able to accept any offers," adds the source. Priyanka was unavailable for comment while Deepak Dhar of the production house says, "Will not be able to comment on market speculation."
