"I don't believe in size zero. Women want to be in good shape. We all want to have weight at the right places. You have to be feminine," she told IANS in an interview.
A fitness enthusiast, she believes in healthy eating.
"I don't believe in crash dieting because crash diet takes a toll on your health and skin. Even if you want to lose weight, go to a proper dietician and follow a proper diet," said the actress, who is hogging the limelight as Dr. Mallika in popular show 'Kuch Toh Loh Kahenge'.
"The most important thing is to eat healthy. Once in a while, it's ok to binge. You must have fruits and dry fruits. One healthy meal is a must. It's important to take a walk for half an hour. To be physically active is very important," she added.
Healthy body helps in instilling confidence in a person, she said.
Whether you are a working woman or a housewife or an actor, "it's important for a woman to be fit and take care of herself for her self confidence," she said.
"When you look in the mirror, you must look nice. For an actor especially, it is very important to look good and feel good. It's a very taxing job. You can't look bad on screen and if you are fit then it shows," said the actress who played Kay Kay Menon's subservient wife in 'Sarkar' and also featured in films like 'Shaitan' and 'D Company'.u00a0
