In the history of Koffee With Karan, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna's episode in 2016 stood out. It was one of the best episodes to air. While Twinkle's sass and candid confessions led to hilarious moments, Akshay's wit also caused a riot of laughs. Akshay, who is celebrating his birthday tomorrow, was left red-faced when Twinkle gave a rather sensational answer to host Karan Johar's question. When the filmmaker asked, "What does Akshay have that the Khans don't?" Without much ado, she replied, "Some extra inches!" Karan looked stumped. Reacting to his expression, Twinkle added, "Don't look at his crotch. I meant his feet. You always have your mind in other people's crotches. It's his feet-size - 12."

During the episode, Twinkle also revealed, "When we were first dating, on my birthday, he got me a crystal paperweight. A paperweight! I don't know what he thought, that I would be very impressed with this paperweight." Akshay added, "Actually, I had forgotten her birthday. Let me honestly tell you. I had forgotten her birthday and then when I realised it was her birthday, there was no time to go and buy. Paperweight was there in my house so I quickly wrapped it (laughs)." Twinkle then shared, "He gave me a paperweight, so I told him that day, âOne day, I will make sure you buy me a diamond as big as this bloody paperweight!' So I made sure."
Akshay and Twinkle have two children. They have a son named Aarav whom they welcomed in 2002 and a daughter named Nitara, who was born in 2012. During the episode in 2016, Twinkle spoke about having their second child. Revealing an anecdote, the actress-turned-author shared, "I told Akshay to do sensible films if he wants to have a second child."
Akshay and Twinkle acted in films like Zulmi and International Khiladi in 1999. After dating for a couple of years, they tied the knot on January 17, 2001, in an intimate ceremony. They completed 22 years in 2023.
