Shivangi Joshi and Samridh Bawa in Balika Vadhu 2
Balika Vadhu 2 on Colors has got an all new cast, with Shivangi Joshi, Randeep Rai and Samridh Bawa in the lead. Samridh who plays Jigar, is Anandi's (Shivangi), husband. Samridh spoke to mid-day.com about what the audience can expect from the show.
What got you on board as Jigar?
Apart from the show name, channel and production house, the character I'm going to portray is quite different from what I've done till now. My character Jigar has both positive and negative shades. In the past, I've always played the cute, romantic guy. As an actor, I would love to explore and this character gives me that chance.
Have you been following Balika Vadhu over the years?
I don't follow the show but everyone knows about this show. There's nobody in India or even overseas, who has never heard of this show. It's exciting to join the cast.
What is your rapport like with co-stars Shivangi Joshi and Randeep Rai?
I've met them a few times for promo shoots, they seem quite sweet and humble. The face says it all, they have nice, pretty faces and I'm sure they are lovely people. They have treated me well.

What difference do you find while shooting post the pandemic?
People are taking precautions and wearing masks. People on our set are responsible. Other than that, all of us have to work so we have to experience this too.
How was the pandemic for you?
I know how to cook now, it has been smooth for me.
How did your family react to your new role?
My family doesn't know yet. I will share the promo with them as a surprise!
Any character on your wishlist?
When I see characters that I'm not in real life, I get excited. I'd love to play a mentally challenged person. I'm not sure about it but I want to try it at least once to see if I can pull it off.
