Salman Khan's remuneration for hosting the reality show, Bigg Boss, has often been a talking point among fans and the media. While several reports claim that the superstar charges a whopping amount that's close to Rs. 1000 crores for the entire season, there's no official clarification on the same. It was claimed that his per-episode remuneration went up to Rs. 12 crores. He makes bi-weekly appearances as the superstar hosts the Weekend Ka Vaar episodes.
In 2022, at the press conference of Bigg Boss 16, Salman addressed the rumour and gave a hilarious reply to charging Rs. 1000 crores for the show. "Those Rs. 1,000 crore, I was rumoured to be getting this year, I was about to return those. I was about to return the money I never got, so Colors will be in complete profit."
The superstar had also shared once, "I would never get this much and if in reality, I get this amount, I don't think I'd be working. I have a lot of expenses like on lawyers and because of these rumours, income-tax people will start noticing me."
Salman has been hosting Bigg Boss since 2010. In the first promo of Bigg Boss 17, the superstar was seen sporting three different looks as he gave a hint at the theme of Bigg Boss 17. He said the audience will get to see 3 avatars, that are 'Dil,' or the heart, 'Dimaag' or mind and âDum,' or strength. The promo ended with Salman saying, "Abhi ke liye itna hi, promo hua khatam."
According to reports, the contestants of Bigg Boss 17 are Ankita Lokhande-Vicky Jain, Aishwarya Sharma-Neil Bhatt, Isha Malviya-Abhishek Kumar, Munawar Faruqui, Mannara Chopra among several others.
The house of Bigg Boss 17 has been done beautifully by Omung Kumar B. and Vanita Garud. Bringing the aesthetics of a fantasyland to life for the newest edition of the show, they have incorporated the mantras of Dil, Dimaag aur Dum into the décor and ambience of the house.
Bigg Boss 17, hosted by Salman Khan, will premiere tonight at 9 pm. The show will air from Monday to Friday at 10 pm and on Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm only on COLORS, with a 24-hour LIVE channel on JioCinema.
