It's International Plastic Bag Free Day today. Celebrated on July 3, the day is a global initiative that aims to eliminate the use of plastic bags. On this occasion, the Television actors Vaidika Senjaliya, Sapna Thakur, Adhvik Mahajan, and Preyal Shah are here to urge citizens to go plastic-free and look for other alternatives to plastic.
Let's hear from them:
Vaidika Senjaliya
Vaidika Senjaliya, who plays the character of Uttara Dixit in Tujhse Hai Raabta said, "I feel celebrating one day as Plastic Bag Free Day will not change the age-old problem that we have been unknowingly creating for years. Serious action needs to be taken on a regular basis and it's high time that we either stop using these plastic bags or find an alternative because this ambient air pollution is not something that we all deserve. At least the ones who are conscious should raise their voices and try to find ways to stop the usage of plastics. These days it's so difficult to ever take a stroll along the Juhu beach because people just randomly dispose of plastic bags on their way home. Hence, I really feel there's a strong need for us to educate the ones who are not aware of the hazards of using plastics."

Sapna Thakur
Sapna Thakur, who plays the role of Samaira in 'Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti' said, "Plastic bags are really harmful to everyone and more so for the environment, we must absolutely avoid using it in our daily life. An easier substitute for this would be cloth bags that can be reused over time. Whenever we go out shopping or purchase groceries from a store, we must carry our cloth bags so that plastic as an option can be eliminated completely. A wiser option for the current plastic products would be to recycle them on a regular basis so as to avoid any kind of unethical disposal and damage to the environment. Even if we take these small positive steps, we can slowly and steadily become a plastic-free country."

Adhvik Mahajan
Adhvik Mahajan, who plays the character of Jogi in Zee TV's 'Teri Meri Ikk Jindri', said, "Time and again, our government has taken several attempts to put a ban on the usage of plastics, but here we are, repeating our same old habits. It's imperative that we understand how hazardous the material is and take precautionary measures to reduce the usage and its impact on the environment. I really think it's high time we focus on more sustainable solutions where we don't have to return to using these single-use plastic bags. Currently, there are so many alternatives like jute and paper bags, which can be recycled for better means. Hence I feel celebrating Plastic Bag Free Day will only hold meaning when we actually start boycotting these products."

Preyal Shah
'Apna Time Bhi Aayega' actress Preyal Shah said, "It's really important to keep our environment safe and healthy, and voiding plastics in our life can definitely make a bigger and better change to our environment. This day should serve as a crucial reminder of how negligent we have been towards mother earth and that we need to start taking environmental matters into our hands at least, for the benefit of mankind. Switching over to eco-friendly products is the easiest step to take, yet something that we fail to do on a regular basis. So, let's try inculcating this positive habit and make the eco-friendly switch because if we can stop using plastic on one particular day, then we can surely avoid using it for the rest of the year. Can't we?"
