Roka Roka
Actor Rohan Mehra aka Naksh from 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' and Sameer from 'Sasural Simar Ka' features in the music video 'Roka Roka' sung by Zublee Baruah. Speaking to mid-day. com the actor tell us all about the shoot and his wedding plans in real life.
What attracted you to the wedding song âRoka Roka'?
When I was offered the song, I knew it had catchy lyrics. Usually it takes some time to remember lyrics of a new song but that wasn't the case with this one. I shared the song with some people and everyone loved and related to it. The storyline of the video was also very interesting. We shot the video in Patiala, since it's a Punjabi dance number. We shot the video on January 1 for which I flew down from Goa. I'm a workaholic and I began the New Year with an exciting shoot, what more could I ask for?
What were the behind the scenes moments like?
We shot in the galis and forts of Patiala. The funniest shot is where I dream that my girlfriend is getting married to someone else and a kid is calling me âmama.' I loved the fact that we had comedy, romance and emotion in the song. Usually songs focus on just the lead pair but here we had the entire family and dancers, it made for a grand package.
Are you a fan of Punjabi numbers as an audience?
Being a Punjabi myself, I'm a fan of such songs and these days almost every song has Punjabi lyrics that are easy to relate to.

What is the best part about shooting music videos unlike daily soaps?
We shoot these videos in one or two days and they are released in a month or so. It's like a short film and the shoots are hassle free.
What do you love most about Punjabi weddings?
I love that people go all out and the weddings are lavish! I love Punjabi weddings for the food, beautiful flower decorations, gana bajana, they are always so much fun.
In real life, would you have a big wedding or an intimate one?
I belong to a typical big joint Punjabi family, so I'm sure whenever it happens it will be grand with all the traditions in place.
