Munmun Dutta of 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' fame recently shared a video with fans on social media, where she could be seen talking about how she wants to present herself before her fans and viewers. Little did she know that her statement, "Bhangi ki tarah nahin dikhna chahti hoon," would land her in trouble.
Dutta received backlash from netizens and she soon had to take down the video from social media. A user shared the same on his Twitter account and asked for her arrest for hurting the sentiments and insulting the Valmiki Samaj.

Netizens are angered by the video. Another user wrote- "The community on which you made derogatory remarks is a hardworking and honest community. He played an important role in the independence of the country. At least you must think twice before using such words." [SIC]
She later issued an apology on her Instagram account by releasing a statement that read- "This is in reference to a video that I posted yesterday where in one word used by me has been misinterpreted. It was never said with the intent of insult, intimate, humiliate or hurt anyone's feelings"
She added, "Because of my language barrier, I was genuinely misinformed about the meaning of the word." Have a look at the post right here:
Masaan director, Neeraj Ghaywan tweeted after reading her post and stated- "Has been misinterpreted"? "Never said it with intent to hurt"? There is no other interpretation! You said the B word and there is no way to cover it up. Apologise and shut up."
