It's Father's Day, today! This special day is dedicated to all the fathers and father figures whose contribution to our lives is unmatchable. On the occasion of Father's Day, television celebrities talk about their daddy dearest, share the advice that they have got from them which in a way helped them to wade through trying times and mention the qualities they have imbibed from their fathers.
Ruhi Chaturvedi with her father
Ruhi Chaturvedi, who plays the role of Sherlyn Luthra in Zee TV's Kundali Bhagya. said "Every moment spent with my dad is indeed very special, but the moment that I treasure and hold really close to my heart is of the time when he walked me down the aisle. I could see the pain within him, of him letting his daughter go away but also the happiness of finding the right man for me at the same time. Coming from a conservative Marwari family, it was a struggle to get into the entertainment industry, but not once did my dad ever feel that girls must not be a part of this industry. In fact, it was his dream to see me on the big screen. He has always been there to listen to all my stories, irrespective of the fact that I have had a bad day or a good day and I'm glad that he turned out to more of a friend to me than a dad. Here's wishing him a very Happy Father's Day."

Punyashlok Ahilyabai's child actor Aditi Jaltare, who essays the lead role of Ahilyabai Holkar, says, "Words are not enough to explain my love for my father. He's my loudest cheerleader and fiercest protector. Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to applaud the man who inspired generations of people and paved the way for women rights and empowerment-âMalhar Rao Holkar'. Being the father-in-law of Queen Ahilyabai Holkar, he went over and above to fulfil his responsibilities and redefined the meaning of fatherhood. Here's wishing a Happy Father's Day to all the incredibly selfless fathers out there."
Abhishek Kapur with his father
Abhishek Kapur, who plays the role of Sameer Luthra in Zee TV's Kundali Bhagya, said "As a kid, I used to spend a lot of time with my father and frankly those were the best days of my life. He has always been extremely inclined towards sports and hence would teach me different games. While he had a diverse experience of Hockey, 100 metres racing and Snooker, I developed a strong inclination for cricket and that's when my dad got me admitted to Madan Lal Cricket Academy, one of the best academies in Delhi. A special memory that I recall from my cricket training days is of the time when I used to get very conscious, especially when a member of my family would come to see me play. One day, my dad decided to come on the field and instead of standing up front, he hid behind a tree to watch me bat since I had told him not to come. I think that's how I eventually got over the persistent conscious feeling within me. My dad has always taught me to fight it out, and to never give up on anything. He always says, âBe ready to start from scratch if ever required'. On this day, I would just love to wish every father a very Happy Father's Day."
Krish Chauhan with his father
Punyashlok Ahilyabai's Khanderao Holkar aka actor Krish Chauhan says, "My father is my real hero. He has taught me confidence, given strength & power and most importantly the courage to go after my dreams. I am honoured to be his son. I wish I could grow up to be half the man he is. Not to forget, this Father's Day is extra special as I have another father figure in my life - Rajesh ji. By essaying the role of his son in the show Punyashlok Ahilyabai, I believe I have got to learn so much from him and he's always been so kind and supportive. He held my hand at every step and guided me when I needed it the most. I am eternally grateful for this experience. Wishing everyone a happy father's day!"
Rushad Rana: My father Behram Rana is the pillar of strength for me and my mom. He is a very strong guy. He has taught me a lot as to how I should lead my life. His biggest advice to me is to listen to my heart and I think that is something that I have always done. I have inherited the creative streak from my father because he is an artist, a wonderful painter who had a successful career in advertising for over 45 years. Now, for the last 15 years, he has been acting and modelling. My father has always been my role model in the way he single-handedly kept us happy and safe. He was always a great help whenever I needed it, be it when it came to my relationships or career.
Mrunal Jain: My father Shailesh Jain always tells me to be patient. There will be good and bad days at work but my goodwill will stay. He tells me to be optimistic always. He is my friend, philosopher and guide. He always tells me I am there so âkuch fikr karne ki zarrurat nahi hai'. This assurance makes me go through everything with a smile. My father supported me to take up acting as a profession. My business acumen also comes from him. The two qualities I have inherited from him are patience and working hard to hone my skills no matter what. I can't think of my life without my father. I may be less expressive, but he knows I love him and I know he is always there for me.
Sharad Malhotra: My father Shushil Malhotra has always inspired me to give my best. He was always supportive of my career decisions. He has always taught me that hard work is the only investment that never fails. I came to Mumbai with no contacts and my father always encouraged me to never give up. He is a very positive person. I have learnt to be positive from him. I have also learnt to be a warrior from him. He always tells me it is nice to feel important, but it is more important to be nice. My father's guidance is what made me what I am today.
Vijayendra Kumeria: My father Pramod Kumeria has given me some very good advice which I have been following to date. He had said that you should do what you feel is right for you and not do things to prove a point to someone. He also advised me to take responsibility for all my decisions in life, be it right or wrong. My father has been supportive of everything I did when it comes to deciding my higher education and career. Even today, I live by his principles. I don't work to impress anyone. I have inherited the no-nonsense approach for anything wrong and the value of kindness from my father.
Delnaaz Irani: I always feel that the song 'kisi ki muskurahaton pe ho nisar kisi ka dard mil sake to le udhaar' perfectly describes my father late Mr Mehelli Irani. All these small qualities like allowing the courier boy to enter the house and offer him a glass of juice to help the needy with money, my father has always been there to help everyone. He was kind and loving to another level. He was a beautiful and pure soul and his words and actions have only made me look at life in a different way.
