Karan Patel, after being part of YHM for over seven years, said he has had a lot of creative hiccups on set with Ekta Kapoor and the creatives. He said, 'There are times when I am not convinced about something and make the team see my point of view, and vice versa. We always talk it out. Eventually, everyone wants what is best for the show.'

Having played Raman (his character name in YHM) for so many years, when asked if it gets repetitive, Karan Patel said, 'There are times when I think, 'How much more can I explore Raman as a character?' But I have made the part my own by infusing my personal traits into him. I try to make Raman relatable to viewers. We don't use stereotypical lines either, we use Hinglish on the show.'

While he was a part of YHM, Karan Patel made sure to also be part of reality shows in the form of a contestant or a host! He turned host for Nach Baliye 7 in 2015 and Gumrah (season 5).

When asked how has Ankita changed his life, Karan Patel said, 'She makes me want to come back home. I used to party and drink, seven days a week, but now it happens only once a week. I have become more health-conscious thanks to her. She makes me a better person.'

Karan Patel and Ankita Bhargava braved an unfortunate miscarriage in June 2018. Talking about the same, he said, 'We are in a positive state of mind. We want to start a family and are already planning for it. The incident is behind us. It's a film that didn't release, but the show must go on.'
