Parth Samthaan: Did you know Kasautii Zindagii Kay's Anurag wanted to become an architect?

It's Parth Samthaan's birthday today. The actor, who plays the lead role of Anurag Basu in the ongoing popular daily soap Kasautii Zindagii Kay, turned 29 on March 11, 2020. We take a look at his journey so far, in pictures!

Parth Samthaan considers his mother "a superwoman" and says she will always be the number one woman in his life. "I share a very close bond with my mother and I am a typical mumma's boy. I am extremely attached to my mother. I always strive to make my mother proud of me and bring a smile on her face. She is my best friend," he said.

Parth Samthaan, in 2012, participated in the talent hunt - Pantaloons Fresh Face, where he emerged as the first runner-up.

In 2013, Parth Samthaan bagged several episodic roles in shows such as Savdhaan India, MTV Webbed, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.

Parth Samthaan rose to fame after his portrayal of Manik Malhotra in a youth-oriented TV show - Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan. While the show's first two seasons aired on Television, its third season was premiered on the OTT platform.

Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan aired from 2014 to 2015. However, after that Parth stayed away from the limelight for almost two years. It wouldn't be wrong to say that Parth went underground keeping away from fans and media.

Parth Samthaan has admitted in the past that he is quite reserved as a person. And this has cost him in some way on his professional front too. "A lot of people — including my fans — tell me that I should be more active on social media. But I can't make random videos to appease people or increase my fan following," said Parth.

Needless to say, Parth Samthaan enjoys a large female fan following. When asked if anyone ever crossed the line, he said, "I have seen girls crying and fainting after meeting me. During a promotional event at a metro station, I remember girls running behind the train to see me."

In 2018, Parth Samthaan made a comeback of sorts with the daily soap Kasautii Zindagii Kay and is currently enjoying getting lauded for playing Anurag Basu in the new version of the Ekta Kapoor show.

"I'm really pleased with the response the show is garnering and grateful that viewers are able to connect with me as Anurag. Anurag is an iconic character and there was a huge responsibility to do justice to the character while adding my personal touch to it," he said about his role, which was played by Cezanne Khan in the original version.
