The unexpected death of actor Rituraj Singh at the age of 59 has saddened the entertainment industry and his fans. 

Rituraj Singh was also friends with Shah Rukh Khan. The two actors began their journey together at a theatre school. The late actor had posted this picture as an ode to SRK on his birthday

His close friend, actor Amit Behl, confirmed the tragic news, revealing that Singh had a fatal heart attack at 12:30 am on February 20.

This is especially devastating as Singh had been dealing with pancreas-related health issues and was undergoing treatment.

Before his passing, he played the character of Yashpal in the TV series Anupamaa. Here are five of his notable roles:

Singh made significant contributions to popular shows like Banegi Apni Baat, where he appeared alongside talents like R Madhavan, the late Irrfan Khan, and Surekha Sikri, showcasing his craft

Satyameva Jayate 2: Singh was part of the 2021 release starring John Abraham, playing the character of Madan Lal Joshi in the action thriller.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania: In the film released on March 10, 2017, Singh portrayed Ambarnath Ambar Bansal, Varun Dhawan's father, depicting a character marked by stubbornness and patriarchy.

Banegi Apni Baat: In this Indian television drama aired on Zee TV from 1993 to 1997, Singh played the role of Vikram (Vicky) Sharma. The show explored college experiences, including flirtation, romance, and campus dynamics.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Known for his versatility, Singh took on a negative role in this popular series, expressing excitement about the challenging character with grey shades. Rituraj told TOI, "I am thrilled to join the 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' family in an exciting role. My character has grey shades, and it was unlike anything I have played before."
