ALTBalaji and ZEE5 launch the much-awaited Season 2 of their favorite woman-centric series Dev DD. The series was initially based on the book Devdas by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay but from a female perspective. Despite being a story known for ages, it is the fresh storytelling where the tables have turned that will keep you glued to your couch and binge-watch till the end. As the story progresses, there are twists in the plot, which are just awesome. Set in today's time and age, but in a society that isn't very open-minded, Devika Dharam Dwivedi is a girl determined to break taboos and stereotypes. The protagonist and her badass attitude form the core of DEV DD!

Season 1 saw Devika, a 22-year-old girl from Jaipur who does not give a damn about what people think about her. She is loud, fearless, and confident to the core. Unlike girls who refrain from crossing the ‘Lakshman Rekha' drawn by their families and society in general, Devika unapologetically shatters the stereotypes in a classy way, even if it means going against her family.

After the success of season 1, the second instalment sees a whole different side of hers. As the season progresses, we will see Devika rediscover herself. She will learn that her worth isn't attached to a man, that she is who she is not because of the men in her life but because of the potential she holds. Devika Dharam Dwivedi will continue being the girl we have loved and have been in awe of. She will change, but from being wilder than our imagination. She will be even more kickass, bolder, more bindass, and even more Dev DD this season.

Asheema Vardaan shares, "My character Devika is a complete rebel. She fights for everything and everyone she loves. Her carefree attitude takes a spin when she suffers through heartbreak, and someone amazing comes in to fill that void. Devika Dharam Dwivedi is the opposite of who I am in real life. Season 1 was tough, as I had to go through workshops with my director, learn how to smoke, and also get into the body language of the character. Season 2 is going to be different than season 1, and I am really excited for it!"

Nauheed Cyrusi who plays Aditi adds, "I got on board with the show because of its portrayal of women as strong and capable. The story narration got me hooked, and I think everything was executed fabulously as well. I play a reporter, Aditi, on the show. The entire cast consists of beautiful people, and we became such good friends that we were excited to be on set to see each other more than anything."

"I was a part of season 1, and that organically leads itself into Season 2. For me, Dev DD says a lot that is often hidden under the carpet. The protagonist Devika is the voice that unveils the hypocrisy & duality that exists in the world. It was breaking some concepts and accepting the mistakes through its characters which were attractive for me. Dev DD is about acceptance, love & closure.", shares Sanjay Suri who plays Anurag in the series

The series also sees an ensemble pool of talented actors playing distinctive characters which are instrumental to Dev DD's story. Asheema Vardaan plays Devika Dharam Dwivedi, veteran actor Sanjay Suri plays Anurag, her love interest, boss, and best friend's father. Rashmi Agdekar plays Chandni, the best friend of Devika. Paritosh, the charming ophthalmologist, is essayed by Aman Uppal. Devika encounters Paritosh at a vulnerable time. Deepika Amin Deshpande and Suneel Sinha, play Devika's mom and dad respectively. The lovely Nauheed Cyrusi plays Aditi and Radha is played by Rumana Molla. The 17 episodes of season 2 are directed by Harsh Dedhia and the show is produced by Balaji Telefilms.
