As the first episode of ‘House of the Dragon' season 2 hit JioCinema in India on June 17, fans quickly took to social media to share their reactions on the much-awaited series that will sadly be available for viewing its fresh episodes every week. As many eagerly wait for the next Monday to come, here's a breakdown of the first episode with spoilers ahead.

Living up to the books, Rhaenyra is grieving her son Lucerys Velaryon's death at the hands of Aemond's dragon Vhagar. She returns home demanding Aemond, and Prince Daemon sends Blood and Cheese to avenge. However, the two are unable to find him and kill Aegon's son instead. The scene leaves the audience shaken at the sounds of the baby boy being killed in front of his mother Helaena. On the other hand, it is shown that Criston has been bedding Alicent adding the element of surprise to the series. At the end of the episode, Helaena tells Alicent that her son has been killed.

Here are some of the reactions to the episode, including strong hate for Cheese kicking his dog who helps catch rats.

One user wrote, "That ending has me shaking."

"The raw emotion on Rhaenyra's face when she found Arrax and Luke's clothes was so heartbreaking," added another.

Another user wrote, "So Cole isn't so concerned with staining his White Cloak and his vow of chastity now? After being so pissed about breaking it for Rhaenyra?"

"I did think blood and cheese could've been more brutal. But I do understand for TV purposes seeing a child in that position is way too much. That scene between Rhaenyra and Jace was so sad. Can we not kick any more dogs, please? Lol," added another one.

Meanwhile, HBO has greenlit the third part. The network has ordered another season of the Game of Thrones prequel series, though isn't specifying how many episodes, The Hollywood Reporter stated.

Based on author Martin's ‘Game of Thrones' book ‘Fire & Blood,' ‘House of the Dragon' follows the Targaryen dynasty in the fictional continent of Westeros. It takes place nearly 200 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones' and about 100 years after the Targaryens united the Seven Kingdoms.
