One of the most anticipated shows of the month, SonyLIV's next original Maharani boasts of a great star cast. With Huma Qureshi, seasoned actors Amit Sial and Soham Shah will also be seen playing pivotal characters.
The story of Maharani dwells over Rani Bharti's (Huma Qureshi) life and how it drastically changes overnight, thanks to an announcement made by her husband (played by Soham Shah), that disrupts the state's political machinery in a blink. While his party officials await the name of his successor with bated breath, the CM's sudden announcement shocks everyone including his wife.
Maharani reflects grit and resilience, and such a powerful story that it surely calls for a powerful power-packed artist lineup.

Bheema had experienced untouchability and oppression since childhood. With hatred against those who looked down upon him, he joins politics in the hope of making society equitable. Quickly rising through the ranks of the Sattarudh Janshakti Party he eventually takes Bihar by storm. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, he must announce a successor. Who will take up his place? What will be his decision and how will that alter the rules of the game? Watch out for more as this mystery will soon unfold.

Civil engineering graduate, meticulous and argumentative is what defines Navin Kumar's character in the show. Born in a decent middle-class family, Navin took the plunge in politics after his idol, Jai Prakash Narayan asked him to join his party. Despite being confident with his approach in politics, he feels the burden of being sidelined by Bheema's rustic charm and his connection with the masses. He has always desired to become the next Chief Minister of Bihar. However, Bheema's sudden decision brings his life and political aspirations to a halt. What will he do next?
Directed by Karan Sharma and created by Subash Kapoor, the show features Pramod Pathak, Kani Kusruti and Vineet Kumar amongst others. Based on the political premise of Bihar, Maharani is a fiction drama series, set to release in May.
