Exclusive! Sima Taparia: I'm celebrating the Emmy nomination for 'Indian Matchmaking' in the Swiss Alps

The Emmy nominations were revealed on Tuesday, July 13th and Sima Taparia's 'Indian Matchmaking' on Netflix has made it to the Unstructured Reality Program category. It's the second time that the show has received a nomination at the prestigious awards, it was earlier nominated in 2021. Taparia who is vacationing in Switzerland spoke to mid-day.com about her latest feat.

Congratulations for the Emmy nomination. How did you find out about the news?

I received the news from the PR office of Netflix, USA and was absolutely euphoric!

How have you been celebrating the nomination and are you confident about bringing the award home this time?

I am holidaying in Switzerland and celebrating in the Alps.

What according to you keeps people connected to the show season after season?

People have connected to the show as they are identifying with the cast. They have loved my traditional Indian values and the way I present myself on the show.

Did you meet some viewers and fans in Switzerland too and what was the interaction like?

People in Switzerland have been recognising me, clicking selfies and are just very happy to interact with me. Many of them could not believe they got the opportunity to meet me in person.
